Early September
Fall 2: Deadpoint (Sept. 2) – Survival thriller sequel. After her sister’s death, Jax (Harriet Slater) joins Luce (Arsema Thomas) for a perilous climb that goes wrong.
Onslaught (Sept. 4) – Action-horror from Adam Wingard. Adria Arjona plays an Army sniper protecting her daughter from escaped super-soldiers.
By Any Means (Sept. 4) – Crime thriller starring Mark Wahlberg and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as an FBI agent and hitman forced to team up on a 1960s civil-rights case.

Mid-September
Practical Magic 2 (Sept. 11) – Long-awaited sequel. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as the Owens sisters, joined by Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, Joey King, and Maisie Williams. Directed by Susanne Bier and based on Alice Hoffman’s later novel.
Runner (Sept. 11) – Action-comedy thriller with Alan Ritchson as a delivery driver racing to deliver a liver while pursued by mercenaries; Owen Wilson co-stars.
Other mid-month titles include The Fix, The Uprising, and the Korean film Hope (limited).
Late September
Resident Evil (Sept. 18) – Zach Cregger’s reboot of the video-game franchise. Austin Abrams stars as a medical courier caught in a night of chaos involving mutants and infection. Paul Walter Hauser and Zach Cherry also appear.
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom (Sept. 18) – Family animation from Aardman. The flock deals with Halloween chaos after the Farmer ruins their pumpkin patch.
The Weight (Sept. 18) – Thriller starring Russell Crowe and Ethan Hawke in a high-stakes prison-and-mine story.
Forgotten Island (Sept. 25) – DreamWorks animated adventure with voices including Dave Franco, Jenny Slate, and Manny Jacinto. Two friends discover a magical island that feeds on memories.
Also on Sept. 25: Heart of the Beast (David Ayer thriller with Brad Pitt), Primetime (A24), and a re-release of Avengers: Endgame.
