October 2026 is a packed month for new video games, with publishers continuing to space major titles ahead of the massive November window. Players can expect a strong mix of shooters, action RPGs, racing, horror, and platformers across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Switch 2.
The month starts with several remasters and new entries. On October 1, Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered arrives on multiple platforms, alongside End of Abyss, a survival-action adventure from former Little Nightmares developers. On October 2, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, bringing the series’ signature high-octane aerial combat back after several years.
Mid-month highlights include Gears of War: E-Day on October 6 for Xbox Series X/S and PC (day-one Game Pass). This prequel focuses on Emergence Day and the early days of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago. The same day brings Star Wars: Galactic Racer, an arcade-style racing game set in the Outer Rim. Around October 8–9, look for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival (horror), Forever Ago, and the Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion (with Switch 2 support in some regions).
Later in the month, Planet Zoo 2 expands the management sim series, while Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (around October 15) revives the classic franchise with new protagonists. Final Fantasy Resonance and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort (Switch 2 exclusive) land around October 22. The biggest multiplatform shooter of the month, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, arrives on October 23 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2.
October closes strongly on October 29 with Phantom Blade Zero, a highly anticipated wuxia action RPG for PS5 and PC, and The Wolf Among Us Remastered, an updated version of the acclaimed Telltale adventure.
